Book review
I borrowed this book from the Petawawa library as it was part of the Christmas display. I had note read any books previously from this author. It was published in 2019 and is part of a series: An Elm Creek Quilts novel. It focuses on a group of women of different backgrounds who have quilting as their common interest. The pivotal event in the book is creating a Christmas market in a build which has undergone many transformations. The market is relocated at the last minute as one of the quilters at a church location in town had unintentionally created a situation where the pipes burst and then flooded the area when the exhibit was supposed to happen. Each chapter focuses on how the individual members of the quilt groups learnt their skills and how they contribute to the overall community. Each quilt displays tells a story. It is a fun read for anyone who enjoys small town social history and the learning about the history of quilting-which is not a dying. It is good Christmas entertainment.
